Before upgrading
In 1968, the fire police brigade of the Police Bureau, Chiayi County was established. In June of 1969, the fire brigade building was completed where the Chiayi Fire Fighting Unit and was stationed. The address is No. 195, Zhongshan Road, Chiayi City. The unit was the predecessor system of this Bureau before the upgrade.
After upgrading (current status)
- On July 1, 1982, Chiayi City was reorganized into a provincial city. The fire brigade of Chiayi County (City) Police Bureau is still co-located. In February, 1992, the Police Bureau, Chiayi County moved to other location, and the Fire Brigade of the Police Bureau, Chiayi City used the original office.
- On December 31, 1998, the Fire Bureau, Chiayi City was formally established. On June 23, 1999, the new building of the Fire Bureau was completed and opened. The address is changed from No. 195, Zhongshan Road to No. 16, Li Xue Street.
- On January 31, 2008, the Bureau was reorganized into Fire Bureau, Chiayi City by the Local Government Act. At present, there are 11 sections (offices), 2 brigades, and 7 branches, with a total personnel of 292.
